Our Therapeutic Approach
At Arden Fernvale Group, our practice is informed by the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) and trauma-informed care principles.
We recognise that many children have experienced adversity, disruption or challenges which may impact how they communicate, build relationships and regulate their emotions.
Our team is trained to understand behaviour as communication and to respond in a way that promotes safety, trust and emotional growth.
Through consistent support, positive role modelling and therapeutic relationships, we help children develop emotional resilience, self-confidence and healthier ways of managing challenges.
Supporting Children with Autism and Learning Difficulties
We specialise in supporting children and young people with autism, learning difficulties and additional needs.
Our approach focuses on understanding each child’s individual communication style, sensory needs and learning preferences. We work closely with families, schools and professionals to ensure support remains consistent across all areas of the child’s life.
We use clear communication methods, structured routines and person-centred approaches that help children feel secure, understood and able to achieve their goals.
Safeguarding and Wellbeing
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.
We are committed to providing an environment where children feel protected, listened to and respected. Our staff are trained to identify risks, promote safety and advocate for the children in our care.
We actively encourage children to express their views, wishes and feelings and ensure they play a meaningful role in decisions that affect their lives.
Our goal is to create a home where children feel safe enough to grow, learn and flourish.
Working in Partnership
We believe the best outcomes are achieved when everyone works together.
We build positive partnerships with:
- Families and carers
- Local Authorities
- Social Workers
- Schools and Education Providers

Open communication, transparency and collaboration are central to our approach and help ensure children receive consistent and effective support.
Arden Fernvale – Five Fundamentals
Arden Fernvale Group is built on a child-centred and therapeutic approach that integrates five fundamental areas of support to help children and young people with autism, learning difficulties, emotional needs, and trauma-related experiences achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.
Our services are built around five fundamental principles that place children’s voices, wellbeing, relationships, and individual needs at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to creating safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environments where children and young people with autism, learning difficulties, emotional needs, and trauma-related experiences can feel heard, valued, and supported to thrive.
Child-Centred Care
We believe every child is unique. Our care is tailored to each child’s individual strengths, needs, wishes, communication style, and aspirations. We actively involve children in decisions about their care, daily life, education, and future goals, ensuring their voices remain central to all planning and support.
2. Therapeutic and Trauma-Informed Support
Our approach is grounded in therapeutic, trauma-informed, and relationship-based care. Using the PACE model — Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy — we help children build trust, develop emotional resilience, and feel emotionally safe and understood.
3. Education and Personal Development
We are committed to supporting every child’s learning, confidence, and future opportunities. Through close partnership working with schools, SEND teams, and professionals, we help children engage positively in education, achieve EHCP outcomes, and develop independence and life skills.
4. Positive Relationships and Participation
We create environments where children develop positive relationships with staff, peers, families, and professionals. Children are encouraged and supported to express their views, wishes, and feelings through communication methods that meet their individual needs, helping them feel respected, included, and empowered.
5. Community Inclusion and Wellbeing
We believe children thrive when they feel connected to their communities and supported to participate in meaningful experiences. We encourage safe involvement in community activities, social opportunities, and independence-building experiences that promote confidence, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing.
At Arden Fernvale Group, our experienced teams work collaboratively with children, families, local authorities, education providers, therapists, and health professionals to deliver compassionate, high-quality care that makes a lasting and positive difference in the lives of the children and young people we support.
Community Engagement and Inclusion
You don’t choose a vocational career; it chooses you!
We are committed to helping children become active and valued members of their local community.
Children are supported to access education, leisure activities, sports clubs, community events and opportunities that promote confidence, social development and independence.
By encouraging meaningful participation within the community, we help children develop a sense of belonging, reduce social isolation and build positive experiences that support long-term wellbeing.
Looking Ahead
Our aim is not simply to provide a place for children to live. We provide a home where young people can heal, grow, develop and prepare for a brighter future.
Through therapeutic care, positive relationships and a commitment to excellence, Arden Fernvale Group is dedicated to helping every child achieve the best possible outcomes and realise their full potential.
